Our Activities

We are able to map the actual level of offers of games of chance in brick-and-mortar shops and provide a self-administrating, quality view for regulation.

Seminars for public administration and entrepreneurs

ČKLP organizes seminars in co-operation with the Czech Ministry of Finance. Civil servants, administrators and entrepreneurs participate to prepare all parties for important changes in the regulation of games of chance as brought about by new legislation effective 1.1.2017.

As of 1.1.2017, three new laws will come into effect and fundamentally influence business in the field of games of chance in the Czech Republic: the law for the regulation of games of chance; the law for the taxation of hazard games; and the amendment law. Such will lead to the replacement of hitherto existing legal amendments in effect for more than twenty-five years and based on act 202/1990Sb., concerning lotteries and similar games.

Important changes for both entrepreneurs and the general public:

  • Legalization of the operation of casinos and combat games via the Internet;
  • Transfer of administrative activities associated with the easing of operations in brick-and-mortar shops on a general level;
  • Gradual introduction of monitoring and protecting players on the Internet and in brick-and-mortar shops.

It is unavoidable that there will be questions related to the new laws as concerns the means of transforming from old to new licensing administration and approval. To answer such questions, ČKLP has prepared organizational seminars where both written and spoken questions are presented during or after debates and answers, views and opinions are offered.

At such seminars a fundamental role is played by the state supervisor of lotteries and games of chance (Odbor 34).
